The app
Asterysm has no account, no analytics, and no telemetry. Your books stay on your computer and never pass through us.
The app goes online only to activate your license and, on a Mac, to look for updates. On Windows, the Microsoft Store installs and updates it, under Microsoft’s own privacy statement.
This website
The site sets no cookies and tracks no one. The appearance and language you choose are remembered in your own browser, and never leave it.
The site, and the Mac’s download, are served by Cloudflare, which handles the technical details every request carries, such as your IP address, to deliver them and keep them safe.
Buying
Paddle, our reseller and the Merchant of Record, takes your payment and handles billing and taxes, under its own privacy notice. We never see your card.
From Paddle we receive what we need to issue your license: your email address, your country, and your order.
Your license
To give you the license you bought, we keep your email address and your license and, for each computer you activate, a random identifier, its system (Mac or Windows), when it was activated, and when it last checked its license with us. That way you can use it on up to three computers and see which they are, and refunds work as they should. An identifier says nothing about your computer or what’s on it.
We write to you only about your license (to activate it, for instance) and to answer you. No newsletters, unless you ask for them.
Who else handles it
Only Paddle, for your order; Cloudflare, which runs the site and our servers; and Resend, which sends our emails, such as the code that activates your license. Any of them may handle data outside the European Union, with the safeguards the law requires. We never sell your data, or share it with anyone else.
How long we keep it
We keep your license’s details while your license exists, and for as long as the law asks us to keep records of orders and taxes.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct, take, or delete what we hold about you, or object to how we use it: write to support@asterysm.com.
If you’re not satisfied with our answer, you can complain to Spain’s data protection agency (AEPD) or to the one where you live.
The person responsible for your data is Rodrigo González.
Changes
If any of this changes, we’ll update it here and change the date at the top.
